Tortilla Kacang 4 Bahan
Ramuan
- 15 auns Kacang kuda dalam tin - undrained, no added salt (note 1)
- 3 sudu makan Minyak Zaitun - (nota 2)
- 2 ¼ cawan Tepung serbaguna - (nota 3)
Optional – for canned chickpeas with no added salt
- ½ sudu teh Garam
arahan
- In a large food processor bowl (mine is an 11-cup). Add the can of chickpeas with the liquid from the can – mine has no added salt, oil, and salt if used.
- Process on high speed, until it forms a smooth, yellowish, fine batter.
- Add flour, olive oil, and salt if used. Process again on medium-high until a slightly sticky dough ball forms. The dough should be soft and moist, not overly wet or dry.
- Sprinkle extra flour on top of the dough ball and knead a few times, adding more flour if needed(I added 1-2 tablespoons max), just to form a smooth dough. Cover with a towel and set it aside for 10 minutes to relax.
- Cut the dough into 15 equal pieces, roll each piece into a ball.
- Roll each ball on a floured surface, using a rolling pin, adding more flour on top as you roll to prevent the tortillas from sticking to the rolling pin. You can also use a tortilla press if you have one. Roll into a thin 3.5-inch wide (10cm).
- Warm a non-stick pan on medium-high heat. Add the rolled tortillas, cover with a lid, and cook for 2 minutes until you see bubbles forming on top of the tortillas.
- Apabila buih muncul, buka penutup, balikkan tortilla, dan masak selama seminit lagi di bahagian yang satu lagi.
- Ulang sehingga semua tortilla masak.

- Kacang kuda dalam tin – This ingredient provides the base for the tortillas, adding protein and fiber. I use the liquid from the can, also known as aquafaba, as a binder to give the tortillas a soft and flexible texture.
- Minyak Zaitun – I use this to add moisture to the dough and help with the texture. I also like how it adds a subtle flavor. You can also use avocado oil or any other neutral-tasting oil.
- Tepung serbaguna – This ingredient forms the main structure of the dough. You can also use white spelt flour if you want. To make gluten-free bean tortillas, follow my Penukaran Bebas Gluten.
- Garam – A small amount of salt enhances the flavor of the tortillas. I only add it if the canned chickpeas I am using have no added salt.
How to Make 4-Ingredient Bean Tortillas
These tortillas are really easy to whip up. Here’s how in a few pictures.

Blend the chickpeas with their liquid in a food processor.

Add the flour and process again to form a sticky dough.

Roll the dough into small balls and flatten each of them with a rolling pin.

Cook each tortilla on a non-stick pan for 2 minutes on one side and 1 on the other.

Let me share a few more tips for a perfect bean tortillas
- Bean Choice – I made the recipe with chickpeas, but it works with most common beans though you need to adjust the other ingredients to have the right texture.,
- Proper Processing – Make sure you process the chickpeas with their liquid and oil until the mixture is completely smooth and fine. This step is crucial for getting a uniform, smooth dough without any lumps.
- Using a Tortilla Press – If you have a tortilla press, you can use it to create perfectly round and even tortillas. Just be sure to use a piece of parchment paper on either side of the dough ball to prevent sticking.

Hi, just came across this recipe and wondered if it could be made into a bread instead of tortillas?
I am not sure how it will turn, it could work, or also be too thick and dense. Feel free to experiment.
Can I use gram flour (chickpea flour) instead of regular all purpose flour?
No, they are both different flours, chickpea flour has no gluten, way more protein and absorb more liquid. The batter will be hard as a rock. However, I have a chickpea flour tortilla recipe specially written o use chickpea flour.
Wow that’s absolutely delicious and yummy, a really amazing recipe
Dengan senang hati!
chickpeas+aquafaba=15 ounces or chickpeas=15 ounces?
if second option then how much aquafaba?
The recipe is clear, it says 1 can (150z) chickpeas, undrained. It means you open a can of 15oz, which is a standard can and use all of it chickpeas + liquid, there’s no need to measure anything.
Maybe it is standard in some countries, it’s different in mine, that’s why i was asking. Thanks
I didn’t know it could be, in US, Australia, France and New Zealand, it’s always 15oz.
Is it possible to make without using oil?
Sure, the dough will be less flexible and soft tho. You will need to swap oil for water to keep the ratio of liquid ingredient right.
Perfect dough!
Terima kasih!
Isnt the liquid from the chick pea can harmful and not recommended to use?
Can we just drain the chick peas and then blend?
Actually, that liquid (known as aquafaba) is perfectly safe to use and serves as a brilliant vegan substitute for egg whites in recipes like mousse or meringue. It is prized for its unique ability to mimic the structural properties of eggs, providing a light, fluffy texture to baked goods and homemade mayonnaise.
I love this recipe! I have made them like 10 times since you posted this 🙂 thank you for sharing this!
I wanted to see if there is a way to make these gluten free? I love that chickpeas go into it for high protein, but I’m hoping to find a way to avoid all-purpose flour.
Sure, you can use my gluten-free converter di sini untuk menjadikan mana-mana resipi saya bebas gluten.
Looks delicious an I live it only has four ingredients compared to the packages you read in stores that you cannot even pronounce the ingredients that are loaded into the tortilla.
True ! I am happy you enjoy the recipe.
i was always told to never use the liquid cause it will make you gas, to always rinse, can i use regular water instead
Sure, you can, but you will have to measure the exact amount of liquid in the can to compensate with water.
