Ainesosat ja vaihdot
Tarvitset vain muutaman yksinkertaisen ainesosan tämän reseptin valmistukseen. Näin valitset ja vaihdat ne.

- Medjoolin päivämäärät – These are the most important ingredient! They provide all the sweetness (if you’re not using sugar), a rich flavor, and essential moisture. They also help bind the bread.
- Lämmin mantelimaito – We use warm milk to soak and soften the dates, making them easy to blend into a smooth paste. Any plant-based milk, like soy or oat milk, will work.
- Yleisjauho – This gives the bread its structure and crumb. You can also use white whole wheat flour or white spelt flour for a slightly heartier texture.
- Leivinjauhetta – This is the main leavening agent, helping the bread rise and become light.
- Ruokasooda – This gives the bread an extra lift and helps it brown nicely.
- Kaneli – This adds a warm spice flavor that complements the dates and nuts perfectly.
- Salt – Salt helps to balance the sweetness and brings out all the other flavors.
- Vaniljauute – This adds depth of flavor to the bread.
- Miedon makuinen oliiviöljy – This provides moisture and fat, which is key to a tender loaf. Any light-flavored oil, such as avocado oil or melted coconut oil, is a fine substitute.
- Silputut saksanpähkinät ja Silputut pekaanipähkinät – These add healthy fats, protein, and a wonderful crunchy texture. You can use any combination of nuts, like almonds, or seeds like pumpkin or sunflower seeds.
- Puhdistamaton ruokosokeri – This is optional, but I recommend it if you have a sweet tooth or if your dates aren’t very sweet. You can also use coconut sugar or soft brown sugar.

Carinen leivontavinkkejä
Let me share a few more tips for a perfect date nut bread!
- Parhaat päivämäärät – I find Medjool dates work best because they are the sweetest and richest, which makes the bread very moist. If you use other, drier dates, the bread might not turn out as soft or sweet.
- Makeuden taso – If you’re using a drier date variety or just have a sweet tooth, feel free to add the optional sugar to the dry ingredients. Any granulated sugar, like coconut sugar or brown sugar, works well.
- Nut Varieties – You can easily play with the types of nuts to change the flavor. Walnuts and pecans are classic, but almonds, pistachios, or cashews are also great choices.
- Add Chocolate – For a sweeter bread, you can add chocolate chips. I recommend stirring in up to 1/3 cup, but if you do, you should reduce the total amount of nuts by 1/3 cup so the batter isn’t too crowded.

Absolutely love this recipe but would love to add some more natural protein if possible – would potentially 1 cup flour and 1 cup oat flour work?
If you swap flour for oat, the bread will be dense and packed. I would rather add 1/2 cup hemp seeds and keep the recipe as pre written. Your texture won’t change but you will sneak in 25-30 g proteins.
Hi CPK! Do you recommend sweetened or unsweetened almond milk? I won’t be using sugar, but I may add date syrup. Thanks!
I always bake with unsweetened almond milk, but if you like your bread sweeter you can opt for a sweetened milk.
I can’t wait to try these delicious recipes to come my way!!! The Date bread is definitely on the top of my list! Looks so good and most imortantly, easy to make. Tysm!!

My only complaint is all the ads
I also can’t print from your site
I am so happy you are baking my recipes ! Thank you. The ads are here to support my work, and deliver my content for free to you. If you can’t print, it’s because you open my recipes in the facebook browser, facebook browser doesn’t support printing. But, if you open the recipe with Chrome or Safari browsers, the print button will work very well. I hope it helps. Carine.
I love it and will make it again fore sure, just one thing…it took close to 60 min to bake at 350 in conventional mode in a 9 inches bread pan. On any given day you probably have everything in hand to make this recipe.
I am very happy you love it. The baking time is always for convection mode, not conventional mode, that’s why it took longer to bake for you.
Hello, do I need to use glass bowls? I have the bowl from stand mixer and Pyrex bowls. Can those be used.
Kiitos
Yes, any baking mixing bowl will work.
