What I was missing in this jar is classic chocolate chip cookies. So I went and created this recipe that combines the sweet and delicate flavors of almond flour cookies with a crunchy and chocolatey addition.

- Preheat the oven to 350 °F (180 °C). Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and lightly oil the paper with coconut oil. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, add all the ingredients except the chocolate chips: almond flour, baking powder, maple syrup, melted coconut oil, vanilla extract, and salt.
- Stir with a wooden spoon or the paddle attachment of a stand mixer, until the cookie dough forms.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and stir to incorporate.
- Divide the dough into 12 small balls, lightly oil your hands to handle the dough as it's a bit sticky.
- Place each dough ball onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving a thumb of space between each cookie. Lightly press the top of each one with the palm of your hand. They will not spread a lot, the shape you create now is what you get at the end.
- Bake the cookies on the center rack of the oven for 14-16 minutes at 350 °F (180 °C) until golden brown on the edges.
- Let them cool them down for 10 minutes on the cookie sheet, then slide a spatula under each cookie and cool down on a wire rack for 1 hour.

You don’t need eggs in my recipes, that’s the point with them. If you add some the recipe will probably fail. Butter instead of coconut oil will work.

Hello, I am diabetic and noticed that most of your cookie recipes contain maple syrup. How can I substitue powder Monk fruit. Can I mix monk fruit with water to give me the equivalent of maple syrup?
I never tried sugar free sweetener in my recipe so I am not sure it will work.
Could I use sugar? I have a friend who is grain free but can’t do any liquid sweeteners.
The liquid sweetener acts as a binder, sugar won’t stick ingredient together. You might need to add some almond milk to compensate.

I am very puzzled that you don’t use weight measurements (imperial OR metric, but weight), especially when using something that is so trickly to measure as almond flour. I am a clumsy baker, and using weights is the only thing that makes my baking work. It used to be that American kitchens insisted on using volume only, but that has changed in the past ten or so years. The rest of the world uses weights. Yes, metric, but we can stick to pounds and ounces if we want to continue to insist that our way is the only way. But honestly, your precaustion about measuring has made me reuluctant to try this. (Yes, I gave it four stars but only because a rating is required in order to leave a comment. I respectfully ask if you won’t reconsider, and use weight (as well as volume for those who need it) Thank you.
It says how much flour and chocolate chips to take – in grams. For liquid ingredients ml amounts make sense. What exactly are you puzzled about?
I am not sure what you mean, we do write all out recipes in both, metrics measurement and US measurement. Simply press the metric button on top of the ingredient list and it convert the recipe in grams and ml in a seconds. You can also leave a comment without clicking on the star rating system of course. Almond flour is more caloric than other flours, because it contains a tad more fat (and each gram of fat brings 9 calories vs 4 calorie per gram of carb). Healthiness is not just the amount of calories, but also their quality.
