This easy, 5-ingredient thick smoothie cu ciocolată și avocado tastes like a vegan chocolate milkshake! Bonus, this is a healthy chocolate smoothie using only wholesome plant-based ingredients 100% refined-sugar-free, gluten-free, and dairy-free!
I love smoothies full of chocolate, like my Smoothie cu banane și căpșuni și ciocolată or Smoothie cu ciocolată și cireșe. Drinking a cold, refreshing drink full of chocolate is like having a healthy version of a chocolate Frappuccino. Making healthier smoothies is more than a passion for me. It’s a great way of serving hidden veggies and loading in nutrients and vitamins.

Smoothie de ciocolată cu avocado
Ingrediente
- 1 ceaşcă Lapte de migdale
- ½ mare Avocado - ripe, with no black spots
- 4-6 Curmale moi fără sâmburi - or 2 tablespoons of maple syrup or coconut sugar
- 2 ½ linguri Pudră de cacao neîndulcită
- 1 ceaşcă Cuburi de gheata
- 1 linguriță Extract de vanilie
- 1 mic Banană - feliat
Add-on ideas to boost your smoothie!
- 1 lingură Unt de arahide (nesărat)
- 1 chiuretă Pudră proteică de vanilie
Instrucțiuni
- Before you start, make sure your avocado has no black spot. If so, it means it is too ripe and it will add a bitter taste to your smoothie. You need a ripe avocado with smooth green flesh.
- In a blender, add all the ingredients together, starting with 4 dates. Adjust the amount in the next step if not sweet enough.
- Blend at high speed until frothy and thick. Taste and adjust the number of dates, adding up to 2 Medjool dates to boost the sweetness.
- Serve immediately with unsweetened coconut whipped cream, chocolate chips, or melted chocolate.

Ingrediente și înlocuiri
This chocolate and avocado smoothie is a thick, dairy-free chocolate smoothie, similar to a milkshake in texture, made with simple, natural ingredients. The key to making the best creamy vegan chocolate avocado smoothie is a ripe avocado with no black spots on its flesh. In fact, black or dark areas in avocado make smoothies bitter, so it is better to avoid them. All the ingredients you need to make a healthy vegan smoothie using avocado are:

- Avocado copt – soft, green, and no black or dark spot on the flesh to avoid a bitter aftertaste. Avocado gives the best creamy texture to this chocolate banana smoothie and healthy fats!
- Lapte de migdale neîndulcit – or any non-dairy milk you love like soy milk, coconut milk, or oat milk.
- Pudră de cacao neîndulcită or raw cacao powder for a stronger chocolate flavor.
- Cuburi de gheata – To add frothiness.
- Extract de vanilie – pentru gust.
- Soft Pitted Medjool Dates – Medjool dates are way bigger and sweeter than any other variety of dates. So if you want to swap Medjool for another variety, you may need 1 or 2 more dates to get the perfect sweetness.
- Banană - a small banana, you can use a frozen banana too but decrease the ice cubes to 1/2 cup or the smoothie will be too thick. For a stronger banana flavor, use a large banana. It is also absolutely delicious.
There are many ingredients you can add to thicken your milkshake. Some great ideas are:
- Spanac - add 1/3 cup fresh baby spinach to create a chocolate avocado spinach smoothie and reach your 5-a-day in no time!
- Mint & chocolate chips – add 10 fresh leaves and 2 tablespoons of vegan chocolate chips. It creates the best vegan mint chocolate chips smoothie.
- Unt de nuci – add 2 tablespoons of peanut butter or almond butter to boost the creamy texture of your drink.
- pulbere de proteine – to make a vegan protein shake add 1 scoop of your favorite vegan protein powder brand into the blender.
- Sirop de arțar – if you want to boost the sweetness of your milkshake, add 1 or 2 teaspoons of refined sugar-free sweetener like maple syrup or agave syrup.
- Seminte – add 1 or 2 teaspoons of chia seeds or flaxseed for a high-power breakfast smoothie high in fiber.

I have plenty of delicious vegan smoothie recipes for you to try!

I love healthy smoothies & this one is one of my top favourites. I have this at least once a week & have been known occasionally to have one serving for breakfast & one for lunch! I love your recipes, thank you so much.
Mulțumesc!
WOW YUMBO.
OURS TURNED OUT MORE LIKE A MOUSSE BUT STILL VERY HAPPY WITH THAT. I DID 2 BANANAS RECIPIE AND ADDED PEANUT BUTTER TO IT. I DID A 1 MINUTE SPIN AND OUT CAME OUR DINNER. THANK YOU
Delicious ! Just made it now !! Question : does the nutritional info/ calories include the nut butter and protein powder or not ?
The nutrition is without the add-ons!
My 4 yr old picky eater drank this right down and asked for more please!!
I’m glad I read the comments and your replies, since the banana I had sliced and frozen mysteriously disappeared (presumably into my 11 year old’s stomach), but I had also sliced and frozen some zucchini. I used 2.5 ounces of frozen zucchini, and the smoothie turned out perfectly texture-wise without any ice. I also used 2 tablespoons of maple syrup instead of dates, and 2 ounces of wholly avocado smashed avocado instead of fresh. Delicious!
That is a great idea to use already smashed avocado! I can never pick out a good one and in fact got food poisoning one time from eating one! Since then I just buy the guacamole in the fridge section. I will get the plain kind and make this!
This is great. A good use for avocados, which I often forget about until it’s too late. I used stevia drops instead of dates or sugar.
Yum!! A nice alternative to avocado mousse, which has a lot more cacao and gives me a little too much energy.
Why is the sugar count so high in this smoothie. I try to avoid all sugar and carbs?
Taste is great however.
There’s banana and dates in the recipe, both are high sugar ingredients. We are not a low-carb sugar-free recipe blog, we eat natura lsugar. If you want to cut down on sugar swap banana for more avocado and remove dates in favor of stevia drops to sweeten.
I hate banana. What would be a good substitute?
You can try frozen zucchini slices, frozen cauliflower or any frozen fruits you love like frozen strawberries or mango
